an update on jack 💙
It’s hard to believe the last time we shared an update was back in December. And honestly… that’s been on purpose.
For the first time in a long time, we’ve been busy just being a normal family. No major updates, no constant changes—just living life, soaking in the everyday moments that once felt so far out of reach.
Back in December, Jack started on a GLP-1 medication. It hasn’t been without its challenges—there have definitely been side effects along the way—but the results have been undeniable. Since starting, Jack has lost nearly 20 pounds.
Even more importantly, when we combined the GLP-1 with the decision to stop chemotherapy on March 16th, we started to see a transformation that goes far beyond the scale.
Today, Jack is:
Happier
More energetic
More confident
And yes—even a little bit skinnier 😊
But most importantly… he feels more like himself.

This journey has also reinforced something we feel incredibly strongly about:
you have to advocate for your health—and your children’s health.
Doctors are incredible, and we are so grateful for the care Jack has received. But they have many patients. You are the only one who knows every detail, every change, every instinct about your own child.
We pushed. We asked questions. We challenged decisions. We went back again and again with Jack’s endocrinologist—and those conversations ultimately changed the course of his treatment.
Had we not advocated the way we did, we truly don’t believe we’d be where we are today.
We also know that GLP-1 medications aren’t for everyone, and there are a lot of opinions out there. We respect that completely. Every situation is different.
But for Jack—for our case—it has made a meaningful, life-changing difference.
We’re sharing this not because we have all the answers, but because we want other families to feel empowered to ask questions, explore options, and trust their instincts.
Jack’s growth chart for weight - the steep upward trend was something we refused to ignore - and now finally we are going in the right direction.
All of that said, TODAY is a scan day. The first scan since starting and ending chemotherapy on March 16th.
PLEASE PRAY FOR US - FOR JACK - FOR THE GIRLS - FOR EVERYONE
We are walking into it feeling genuinely optimistic. We’re hopeful the results will show everything is stable— as there have been no signs of any neurological changes.
Being off medication - and staying off medication - has been and will be nothing short of life-changing—not just for Jack, but for all of us.
As parents, the freedom from constant meds, schedules, and side effects has lifted a weight we carried for so long. And for the incredible people who help care for Jack every day—thank you Aunt Liz and Grandma Sherry—we know you feel that difference too.
Thank you, as always, for continuing to support Jack and our family.
Your prayers, messages, and encouragement have carried us through more than you know.
And right now, we’re just incredibly grateful… to finally feel like life is a little more normal again.
With love,
The Taylors 💙
